ARTWORK STATEMENT: My interest in the technical precision that is involved in perspective drawing, combined with my passion for architecture and engineering, is what drives much of my work. I consider key concepts such as human-centered design, biomimicry, color theory, and aesthetic purpose into the design process of the structure.
The building is designed to be a luxury high rise that features an opened, cathedral atrium and covered, cantilever entry. The concept is that the structure recedes as the elevation increases. Beginning with the first horizontally oriented blue-green ban, the structure utilizes the same ratio as it both ascends and descends in opposite directions, before reaching the final, uninterrupted tower. The blue-green color, in addition to the nearly seamless glass, is intended to present a clean and crisp aesthetic concept. Then, every seven floors receive the dark, blue-green ban, with exterior sky decks allowing guests to take in views of the surrounding city.
Finally, the adjacent structures, left in black and white and intended to represent architecture of the last century, contrast with the cool colors and minimalistic design of the emphasized structure. This, in addition to the soft tone in the sky, draws the viewer to the structure.
