ARTWORK STATEMENT: Reflective glass, the soft glow of colored lights, the intimate view of hands in an acknowledgement of mutual cheer or goodwill--these elements take centerstage in this painting. I wanted to capture this small moment of connection. A clink like this usually ends almost as soon as it starts: a simple "cheers," a first sip, and onto the next thing. But it communicates a simple moment of "you and me," and I think that is worth capturing.
