The City of Savannah’s Cultural Resources Department will debut a new lecture series about public art this fall. The first lecture “Intro to Public Art” will be held at the new Savannah Cultural Arts Center on October 10, 2019 at 6 p.m. THE EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

“The City developed this lecture series in response to increased interest in public art projects. Not only will they provide residents with an opportunity to learn more about the existing process, but they can also provide their input on public art in Savannah,” said Lissette Garcia Arrogante, Director of Cultural Resources.

“Intro to Public Art” is the first in a three-part discussion series moderated by Kristopher Monroe, a local arts writer and Vice Chair of the Historic Site and Monument Commission. Monroe will be joined by panelists Clinton Edminster, Jose Ray, and Ryan Jarles, for a roundtable discussion about local public art projects and their process.
