ARTWORK STATEMENT: For as long as I can remember, the transition of light from a sunset or sunrise has been my sanctuary. Growing up in an environment defined by volatility, I learned to seek out the horizon as a place of refuge. Now, living along the Georgia coast, I have found my true home among the salt marshes and the vast, open Atlantic. My work is an exploration of that. Through these paintings, I hope to translate the feeling of open air and the profound sense of freedom that comes from being on the water. I want the viewer to feel the sun on their skin and know that, no matter how heavy the world feels, there is always a magical horizon waiting to hold them.
