ARTWORK STATEMENT: This photograph was created in the stillness of the Lowcountry swamp at Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge, where water, light and silence converge in quiet communion. Perched with its head lowered, the Great Egret felt less like a hunter and more like a figure in reverence-a moment of humility within its natural sanctuary. My work explores the spiritual presence within the Southern wetlands, using restraint and stillness to invite contemplation and reveal the sacred woven into the natural world.
