ARTWORK STATEMENT: This painting was inspired by Westie, the loggerhead sea turtle released by the Tybee Island Marine Science Center, (September 6, 2025 )after three years of care and rehabilitation. Westie was fitted with a satellite tracker so her journey into the Atlantic Ocean can be followed and celebrated as she lives her best life. She is powerful symbol of resilience and connection to our coastal environment.
