ARTWORK STATEMENT: I see each of my landscape paintings as a very tiny facet of a much larger masterpiece created by God. When observing the magnificent colors of a sunset, I am transported into a place of glorious beauty and peace. Using oils with a style of loose realism, I paint to capture a moment in time, as in this painting, when the beach is bathed in golden light with pockets of violet shadows and the sky is an abstract painting unto itself, so that the viewer himself is transported into the glorious.
