Arts on the Coast is preparing for its next ArtNite exhibition, Parallels, opening Friday, September 18, at the Richmond Hill City Center. Participating artists are encouraged to review the following artwork pickup and drop-off schedule, submission requirements and opening-night information carefully.
Quarterly Meeting and Artwork Drop-Off
The next Arts on the Coast Quarterly Meeting will take place Monday, September 14, from 6–8 p.m. at the Richmond Hill City Center, located at 520 Cedar Street inside J.F. Gregory Park.
This meeting is the best opportunity for participating artists to:
• Pick up artwork from the Majestic exhibition
• Drop off artwork for ArtNite: Parallels
• Connect with fellow Arts on the Coast members
• Prepare for the upcoming exhibition and opening reception
Artists unable to attend the Quarterly Meeting may drop off artwork at the Richmond Hill City Center on Tuesday, September 15, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Arrangements may also be made directly with Sarah Volker by appointment.
Artwork remaining from the Majestic exhibition after 2 p.m. on September 15 will be moved to storage. Artists will then need to contact Sarah to arrange a separate pickup appointment.
ArtNite: Parallels
ArtNite: Parallels will open Friday, September 18, from 5:30–8 p.m. at the Richmond Hill City Center.
The exhibition will remain on display until the mid-December ArtNite event, giving visitors several months to experience the work of participating regional artists.
Arts on the Coast members who enjoy sharing their culinary talents are also invited to bring an appetizer for the opening-night reception.
Artist Participation Requirements
Artists may submit up to three works for the exhibition. To help keep each ArtNite fresh and engaging, submitted pieces should not have been exhibited in Richmond Hill during the past two years.
Participation is $45 per artist and requires an active Arts on the Coast membership. Memberships renew annually in January. Artists who are uncertain of their current status may check the online member directory or renew their membership through the Arts on the Coast website.
Artists planning to submit three-dimensional work should notify Arts on the Coast in advance so that a pedestal can be provided. Three-dimensional pieces may be transferred to the Arts on the Coast Gallery following the opening reception.
Preparing and Labeling Artwork
All two-dimensional artwork must arrive ready to hang with secure, end-to-end wiring. Arts on the Coast volunteers are unable to wire artwork during installation, and pieces that are not properly prepared cannot be displayed.
Each piece must also be clearly labeled with the:
• Artist’s name
• Title of the work
• Medium
• Price
Although artists will provide this information through the submission form, labeling each individual piece helps ensure that every work is identified and displayed correctly.
QR Codes and Artwork Sales
Artists are encouraged to provide QR codes that allow visitors to learn more about or purchase their work. To maintain consistency in exhibition labeling, artists using QR codes should email each code to Patty Mathews along with the title of the corresponding work.
Artists should test every QR code before opening night and again during the event to confirm that it links to the correct destination.
Print Sales During ArtNite
Participating artists may bring a freestanding print bin for display in the food and beverage room. Each bin should be clearly labeled with the artist’s name, and every print should include a price.
Artists who accept payments directly through a website or digital payment system are encouraged to display a purchasing QR code on the print bin. This allows visitors to buy directly from the artist without requiring Arts on the Coast to process the transaction.
All print bins must be removed at the conclusion of the opening-night event.

Participating artists, members and supporters are encouraged to like and share the official ArtNite: Parallels event on Facebook and invite friends to attend.
ArtNite is free and open to the public, offering an opportunity to experience original regional art in a welcoming gallery setting while enjoying live music, refreshments and the company of fellow art enthusiasts.
